Review of Kansas’s Medicaid Payments for the Family Preservation Program for the Period July 1, 2000 Through June 30, 2003
March 10, 2008 The Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General conducted a review of the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (DSRS) concerning allowable Medicaid payments for family preservation services between 2000 and 2003. The review found that due to the DSRS's method of payment - a lump sum for several services, including family preservation services - the agency could not determine the appropriate amount to claim for Medicaid reimbursement. In all, the DSRS did not assure that its over $3 million claim was equal to or less than the limit specified in the State . . .
