Rolland Active Treatment Review: 2007 Report Executive Summary

January 24, 2008 For reporting period August 2007 to December 2007, the services and supports provided to people with developmental disabilities, who are part of the Rolland v. Patrick class action lawsuit, and who receiving services from the Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation while placed in a nursing home, were reviewed. The review found that 94% of the 35 class members did not receive active treatment services while in the nursing home placement. This failure to provide services was in violation of a court order to provide such services for individuals with developmental disabilities placed in a nursing home . . .
