April 15, 2009 This lawsuit, filed by the Arizona Center for Disability Law against the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES), alleges that DES budget cuts violate federal laws that require states to provide early intervention services to all children younger than three who have or are likely to have "developmental delay." The Center seeks to force DES to restore funding to programs for disabled children, and has asked for an injunction barring DES from cutting off services until the suit is resolved . . .
