Report by the Superintendent of Insurance On the Cost & Effectiveness of New York’s 2006 Mental Health Parity Legislation (Timothy’s Law)

May 2009 The New York Insurance Department, in consultation with the New York Office of Mental Health, reviewed the cost effectiveness of a mental health parity law known as "Timothy's law." The agencies reviewed industry-wide statistics and a detailed claims/cost analysis. The law was slated to sunset December 31, 2009.
