Children’s Administration Review of Issues Raised by Stevens County Prosecutor Regarding Colville Division of Children & Family Services Office

May 5, 2009 In June 2008, concerns expressed by a state legislator and the Stevens County, Washington, prosecutor prompted the Washington Department of Social and Health Services to review child welfare practice in Colville, Washington. The review team consisted of three Children's Administration staff members. The review team contacted and interviewed care providers, community services providers, and court officials. They also conducted a review of the cases cited by the Stevens County prosecutor and made two site visits to Colville DCFS in March and April 2009.
