June 23, 2008 This position paper by the Pennsylvania Community Providers Association (PCPA) was written to address member reports that clients/consumers were experiencing difficulties in accessing and maintaining needed medications. The authors note that although the commonwealth seeks expand community-based treatment and recovery programs, without easy and continuous access to medications achieving and sustaining recovery will be difficult. A PCPA workgroup reviewed the current status of pharmacotherapy in Pennsylvania.
