June 18, 2008 The study was commissioned by the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council to analyze demand and possible insurance cost increases if autism services were covered by group health plans. The study was commissioned after House Bill (HB) 1150 mandating such coverage was passed by the Pennsylvania House.  The bill was signed into law on July 9, 2008. The researchers reviewed literature on the financial and social impact of the implementation of HB 1150.
