A Review of Education Programs for Students in the Texas Youth Commission State Schools
July 25, 2008 Between February and June 2008, researchers from the Office of the Independent Ombudsman for the Texas Youth Commission (TYC) conducted an evaluation of seven TYC education programs. The purpose was to provide TYC with a comprehensive picture of the education program provided at each school. The review included intake educational assessments and accountability standards; general education program structure and programs; the impact of disciplinary policies on education entitlements; and special education programming.
