Medicaid Program: Clarification of Outpatient Hospital Facility (Including Outpatient Hospital Clinic) Services Definition

November 7, 2008 The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) implemented a final rule that aligns the Medicaid definition of outpatient hospital services with the Medicare definition. CMS seeks to improve the functionality of the applicable upper payment limits, which are based on a comparison of Medicare payments for the same services.
