June 23, 2006 Illinois Law Expands Insurance Coverage for Children With Developmental Disabilities On June 23, 2006, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich signed legislation requiring all state, local, and private insurance plans to pay for treatment of pervasive developmental disorders and requiring group health benefit plans to cover an additional 20 outpatient visits for speech therapy.
