June 29, 2006 Tenet Healthcare Press Release Concerning Details About Department of Justice Settlement The agreement concludes the Department of Justice investigation of Medicare outliers. In the agreement, Tenet will pay $725 million over four years and waive $175 million in Medicare payments. Tenet also agrees to enter in to a Corporate Integrity Agreement. This press release also announces that Tenet Healthcare plans to sell eleven hospitals by mid-2007. A revised management outlook for 2006 and intermediate-term earnings potential are discussed. Capital investments in remaining hospitals will be accelerated with a focus on technology and patient care enhancement . . .
