Effects of the Affordable Care Act on Health Insurance Coverage – Baseline Projections
On March 9, 2015, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projected that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA) insurance provisions will cost the federal government $142 billion less than predicted by 2025. In the January 2015 baseline, the CBO projected that the net cost of the PPACA provisions would be $1.35 trillion.
