Missouri Department Of Mental Health Director To Retire

Keith Schafer, Director of the Missouri Department of Mental Health, announced his retirement from the position, effective near the end of June, 2015. He has held the position twice: from 1986-1994 and from 2007-2015, during his nearly three decades in the field. During his time, he expanded the state's crisis intervention and mental health first-aid programs as well as developed the Partnership for Hope Program. The Department hopes to hire a new director by this summer.
