Microsoft Launches Program To Hire People With Autism
Microsoft launched a pilot program to hire people with autism. Microsoft will hire individuals with autism for full-time positions via Specialisterne, a group dedicated to finding work for those with autism. The effort was announced in a blog post by Mary Ellen Smith, corporate vice president of worldwide operations. In the post, she wrote, “People with autism bring strengths that we need at Microsoft. Each individual is different, some have amazing ability to retain information, think at a level of detail and depth or excel in math or code. It’s a talent pool that we want to continue . . .
