Virginia Office of Intellectual Disability Supports Quarterly Report for January-March 2009

March 31, 2009 The resource describes changes to the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services' (DBHDS) plan to close the Southeastern Virginia Training Center (SEVTC). The closure plan was revised by the legislature. DBHDS now plans to reduce the bed-size of SEVTC to 75 and develop twelve ICFs/MR and six waiver-funded homes in the community. Throughout this time, the Office of Intellectual Disability Supports (OIDS) worked with other DBHDS offices, SEVTC staff, the community service boards of Region V, family members, private providers and stakeholders to establish a framework for the safe and effective transition . . .
