A decade ago, autism prevalence was estimated as affecting one in 300 children; in 2007 the CDC said prevalence was closer to one in 150 children. Various studies have sought to link the growing prevalence of autism to environmental, geographic, and genetic factors, but one thing is for sure—the numbers are rising.
