August 1, 2008 This report, by Child Trends, synthesizes findings from implementation research conducted in the out-of-school time field and provides recommended action steps for practitioners implementing evidence-based practices in their organizations. It focuses on the three implementation drivers related to organizational practices and external influences: facilitative administration, the proactive and ongoing measures taken by organizational administrative staff to minimize implementation barriers and create a work environment conducive to practitioners; systems-level partnerships; and decision-support data systems, management and program support tools that provide information on service delivery, participant outcomes, staff assessments, and program fidelity.
