August 30, 2005 New Jerseys Bergen Regional Medical Center announced plans to cut up to 50 non-direct patient care positions on December 21, 2010. The need for cutbacks was attributed to federal and state reimbursement reductions for charity care and to contracting restrictions imposed by the Bergen County Improvement Authority.
