Connecticut’s Magellan Health CEO Rene Lerer Out As CEO

Circle Connections: New Talent Avon's Magellan Health Services Inc. said Tuesday that CEO Rene Lerer will step down from his chief executive role January 1, 2013, and be replaced by a fellow board member. Barry M. Smith, who has had two separate stints on Magellan's board since 2005, will take over as the company's CEO on New Year's Day. Lerer, 57, has been Magellan's CEO for about a decade, and will become the company's full-time executive chairman in 2013, helping with the transition process.
