North Carolina’s Mental Health Merger With Durham-Based Alliance Approved By Cumberland County Commissioners
Circle Connections: Policy & Regulatory Updates The Cumberland County Mental Health Center is set to merge with Alliance Behavioral Healthcare of Durham next month. The county Board of Commissioners voted to complete the merger and to have Cape Fear Valley Health System take over the county's outpatient mental health clinic. The health system is expected to open a crisis unit for stabilizing people with mental health problems to keep them out of the jail and emergency rooms.
