HCA, which has 2,431 behavioral health beds in 54 programs across the country, saw a 12.6 percent growth in behavioral admissions in 2012 over 2011. In the three year period from 2006 to 2009, the company saw a 19 percent increase in the number of emergency department visits that involved a psych diagnosis.
