Central Virginia Community Services Board Seeks Name Change
Mergers & Acquisitions After 43 years, the Central Virginia Community Services Board is seeking a name change. The agency hopes to be renamed Horizon Behavioral Health this fall, to better reflect the services it offers. The CVCSB offers affordable behavioral healthcare to residents in Appomattox, Amherst, Bedford and Campbell counties and Lynchburg. The agency, established by the localities, serves clients with mental illness, mental retardation and substance abuse issues. “Community services” has been interpreted in numerous ways by those who contacted the agency, so an advisory committee spent a year looking for alternatives, arriving at the name Horizon Behavioral Health . . .
