South Carolina Senate Bill 426 of 2015, The Mental Health Court Program Act

The legislation became law on June 1, 2015. It permits all South Carolina counties to establish mental health courts. It also provides for the continued existence of previously established mental health courts currently operating in Charleston, Greenville, and Richland counties. The legislation provides no direct state funding for implementing mental health courts. SB 426 does not require county courts to implement mental health court programs . . .
