Special Report: Improvements in the Quality of California’s Prison Medical Care System
On March 10, 2015, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California released this report by the California prison health care receiver who oversees the quality of care delivered to inmates of California prisons. This report is written in the context of longstanding litigation in which the court ruled that quality of medical care provided in state prisons was so poor that it constituted "cruel and unusual punishment" in violation of the Constitution.
