Ottawa County Community Mental Health Faces Budget Cuts
Since the start of 2015, Ottawa County Community Mental Health has laid off 35 employees to deal with a $2 million shortfall in its budget. In addition, the agency has been asked to reduce its budget by an additional $6.8 million over the next four years, cutting $1.7 million from its budget each year. Ottawa County Community Mental Health provides care for people with mental illnesses and with developmental disabilities. It currently operates with a budget of about $38 million.
