Ohio House Bill 50, To Implement Foster Care Extended Eligibility
The legislation was approved by the Ohio House and sent to the state Senate on December 8, 2015. Ohio House Bill 50 (HB 50) calls for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) to submit an amendment by July 1, 2017 to seek federal approval to use federal Title IV-E foster care funds for young adults up to age 21 who were adopted from the state child welfare system at age 16 or 17, or who were in state custody at age 18.
