This document was released in January, 2015 by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). The report includes information about the Department of Defense (DoD) mental health provider staffing and strategies. The GAO noted  that the DoD Military Health Services has increased its overall mental health provider staffing level by 34% between fiscal years 2009 and 2013, from 4,608 professionals in fiscal year 2009 to 6,186 professionals in fiscal year 2013, but that the individual service branches used different methods to determine the types of professionals to hire . . .
