Olivia Y Court Monitor’s Interim Report Regarding Mississippi Department of Human Services’ Child Welfare Performance (Report Period 5)

This report was released on January 6, 2016 by the court monitor’s overseeing Mississippi's child welfare system. The Olivia Y lawsuit was filed in 2004; the plaintiffs sought only court-ordered changes to the foster care system to ensure that the state adequately protected children in state custody and provided necessary services. In November 2007, the state entered into a settlement agreement and in 2012 entered into a modified settlement agreement (MSA).
