On February 29, 2016, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a guidance memo to state Medicaid directors advising them that they could use federal funding to help behavioral health, addiction treatment, and long-term care provider organizations adopt electronic health record (EHR) technology.
