Proposed Rule: Medication Assisted Treatment For Opioid Use Disorders
On March 30, 2016, the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a proposed rule that doubles the number of consumers receiving buprenorphine treatment for opioid addiction who can be supervised by a trained physician holding a buprenorphine waiver. The current maximum is 100 consumers per waivered physician after the first waiver year.
