Rhode Island Americans With Disabilities Act Of 1990 Settlement Compliance Status Report In U.S. v. Rhode Island, April 1, 2016
On April 1, 2016, the state of Rhode Island released a compliance status report on the goals that have been met in the U.S. v. Rhode Island 2014 consent decree. The consent decree requires the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH) and the Office of Rehabilitative Services to help more persons with disabilities to work in regular jobs, rather than in “sheltered workshops.” The decree also requires the state to help persons with developmental disabilities participate in other community-based activities . . .
