Indian Child Welfare Act, Final Rule

On June 17, 2016, the Bureau of Indian Affairs released this document regarding the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) final rule. This final rule adds a new subpart to the Department of Interior's regulations implementing the ICWA and addresses requirements for state courts in ensuring implantation of ICWA in Indian child-welfare proceedings and requirements for states to maintain records under the ICWA.
