On June 9, 2016, the United States of America and the State of North Carolina brought this civil antitrust action to enjoin Defendant, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority, dba Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS), from using unlawful contract restrictions that prohibit commercial health insurers in the Charlotte area from offering patients financial benefits to use less-expensive health care services offered by CHSÂ’'s competitors.
