AARP v. U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
On October 24, 2016, AARP asked for a preliminary injunction staying the January 1, 2017 implementation date of parts of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Wellness program rules. Under the rules, financial penalties can be levied against employees who do not share medical information with their employers through workplace wellness programs.
