New Hampshire Health Protection Program Premium Assistance 1115 Waiver Amendment Request

On August 10, 2016, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) submitted this request to amend its 1115 Medicaid waiver to operate the New Hampshire Health Protection Program (NHHPP) and the NHHPP Premium Assistance program.  The NHHPP Premium Assistance program is for the Medicaid expansion population. In the amendment, the state requested approval to make the following changes:

Modify eligibility to be inclusive and consistent with the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program, as well as require that newly eligible adults who are unemployed be eligible to receive benefits if DHHS finds that the individual . . .
