Utah Senator Holds Suicide-Prevention Conference

In an effort to battle teen suicide, Utah Senator Orrin Hatch convened a panel of experts, physicians, advocates, and concerned parties at East High School in Salt Lake City on December 16, 2016. The goal of the conference was to discuss state-wide suicide-prevention progress, and determine additional steps that can be taken to further prevent teen suicide deaths.

Suicide was the leading cause of death for those 10-17 years of age in Utah during 2014, according to a June 2016 Utah Department of Health Report. It is anticipated that the suicide rate has decreased by 23 percent . . .
