WellCare Health Plans, Inc. To Acquire Phoenix Health Plan Medicaid Assets

WellCare Health Plans, Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire certain assets from Phoenix Health Plan (PHP), including Medicaid membership and some provider contracts. Expected to close by June of 2017, the transaction expands WellCare's presence in Arizona.

PHP, a wholly owned managed care subsidiary of Tenet Healthcare, primarily provides health benefits to more than 50,000 Medicaid beneficiaries in Maricopa County, Arizona.

WellCare Health Plans, Inc. is a Florida-based company that provides government-sponsored managed care services to families, children, seniors, and consumers with complex medical needs.
