CMS Could Do More To Harmonize Requirements Across Programs
On December 22, 2016, the U.S. Government Accountability Office released this report on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) shortfalls concerning Medicaid personal care services. The report includes a four-state analysis of the ways each state used to protect beneficiaries receiving in-home personal care services from harm and their methods to help ensure billed services were actually provided. The report concludes that CMS could do more to harmonize requirements across state programs in regards to personal care services . . .
