Girls Inc. Receives $2 Million For Mentoring Activities
The federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has awarded a $2 million grant to Girls Inc. Bold Futures Mentoring Program for girls with increased risk of juvenile delinquency and victimization. The funds are part of OJJDP's Mentoring Opportunities for Youth Initiative which supports strengthening/expansion of mentoring activities for successful youth intervention.
The Bold Futures Mentoring Program offers long-term mentoring relationships to help girls in high-risk communities with gender, economic, and social barriers. Without this support, these young ladies often respond to the violence, victimization, and sexual assault they see in their everyday lives . . .
