On December 29, 2016, the Center for Medicaid and Chidren's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Services (CMCS) published this preliminary monthly enrollment data from September and October, 2016. The data represents state Medicaid and CHIP agency activity for the month containing data for all states (including Washington D.C.) on:

The number of applications submitted directly to Medicaid and CHIP agencies;
The number of eligibility determinations made by Medicaid and CHIP agencies on both these applications, and applications to the Federally-Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) in states for which the FFM makes an eligibility assessment; and
The total number of individuals . . .
