Merger Planned Between Eastpointe & Cardinal Innovations Healthcare

Eastpointe announced plans to merge with Cardinal Innovations Healthcare on July 1, 2017, pending approval from the state Health and Human Services secretary. The combined managed care company will operate under the Cardinal Innovations Healthcare name to serve the nearly 3.8 million potential consumers in 32 North Carolina counties.

Eastpointe manages behavioral health care in Wilson, Nash, Edgecombe, Greene, Wayne, Lenoir, Bladen, Columbus, Sampson, Scotland and Robeson counties in eastern North Carolina.

North Carolina-based Cardinal Innovations Healthcare is the largest specialty health plan in the United States, serving more than 850,000 consumers with complex needs.
