Mercy Behavioral Health Adds Providence Hospital Inpatient Addiction Step-Down Unit
Mercy Behavioral Health Care has added a 21-bed "step-down" unit at its Providence Behavioral Health Hospital to help those fighting substance abuse disorder transition from inpatient to outpatient services. The new unit also adds 20 additional full-time employees. Slated to open in February, 2017, the unit is funded by monies received from both the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and private donations. The upcoming Caritas Gala will also be dedicated to developing funds for the effort.
