Medi-Cal Whole Person Care Pilots: Approved Applications

On January 1, 2017, 18 California counties launched Medicaid Whole Person Care (WPC) pilot projects to provide comprehensive, coordinated physical and behavioral health and social services to beneficiaries with higher than average use of health care resources. The county pilots target beneficiaries who are high-risk and/or high utilizers, including those released from institutions or incarceration; who have mental illness and/or substance use disorder; and/or are currently homeless or at-risk of homelessness.
