The State Of Nebraska To Cut Duplicative Jobs & Behavioral Health Accommodations
The Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services has announced plans to cut 39 jobs at Beatrice State Developmental Center for people with developmental disabilities and transition residents out of behavioral health accommodations run by the Bridges program in Hastings. The two reductions are not related.
The Beatrice State Developmental Center cuts stem from duplicative jobs, and affect positions in "non-front-line" positions. The Bridges program closures come from a violation of federal rules designed to keep residents with developmental disabilities out of institution-like settings.
