Report On The Harris County Mental Health Jail Diversion Pilot Program For Fiscal Year 2016

On February 15, 2017, the State of Texas issued this report on the Harris County mental health jail diversion pilot program for fiscal year 2016 as required by Senate Bill 1185 (HB 1185), 83rd Legislature, Regular Session, 2013. HB 1185 required the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to evaluate and submit a report on the effectiveness of a mental health jail diversion pilot program designed to reduce jail recidivism and frequency of arrest and incarceration among persons with mental illness in Harris County.
