Review of California’s Title IV-E Claims for Payments Made by Los Angeles County to Foster Homes of Relative Caregivers
October 2, 2009 The federal Office of the Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services audited Title IV-E claims made by Los Angeles County, California, from October 1, 2000 to November 30, 2001. The auditors found that the county submitted claims for unapproved relative caregivers. Of 100 relative caregiver homes reviewed, 87 had not been approved based on the state's family home licensing standards.
