Illinois Senate Bill 0955 Of 2017, To Raise Medicaid Reimbursement For Direct Support Professionals Serving DD Waiver Participants

On February 2, 2017, the Illinois State Senate released this Bill 0955 of 2017 that would raise Medicaid reimbursement for direct support professionals serving DD Waiver participants. The Bill amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Administrative Act and the Illinois Public Aid Code to raises wages to $15 per hour for direct support professionals (DSPs) caring for people with intellectual/and developmental disabilities (I/DD), building the compensation towards "livable wages". The Senate approved the bill on May 10, 2017, and the bill was passed to the State House of Representatives for consideration.
