Illinois House Bill 2960 Of 2017, To Raise Medicaid Reimbursement For Direct Support Professionals Serving DD Waiver Participants

On February 19, 2017, the Illinois House of Representatives released this preliminary House Bill 2960 (HB2960) that would raise Medicaid reimbursement for direct support professionals serving DD Waiver participants. The Bill amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Administrative Act and the Illinois Public Aid Code to raises wages to $15 per hour for direct support professionals (DSPs) caring for people with intellectual/and developmental disabilities (I/DD), building the compensation towards "livable wages". HB2960 was accepted by the State Senate on May 10, 2017, and was returned to the House of Representatives for final consideration.
