Orleans Parish Jail Monitors’ Report No. 7

On May 1, 2017, the Federal Court of Louisiana's Eastern District filed this Report No. 7 of the Orleans Parish Jail Monitor. The report  states that about one-third of the approximately 1,550 jail inmates at the Orleans Parish Jail are prescribed psychotropic medication, but only approximately 10% are included on the monthly jail special needs mental health caseload. Additionally the data is unclear regarding inmates who need counseling services and those who are receiving counseling services . . .
