WellCare Names Dr. Mark Leenay Chief Medical Officer

WellCare Health Plans (WellCare) announced Mark Leenay, M.D. as its new senior vice president and chief medical officer. Dr. Leenay will now be joining the company's executive leadership team.

Dr. Leenay initially joined WellCare as chief medical director for its care model, but will now be working to accomplish WellCare's clinical strategy, with a specific focus on clinical integration and alignment of its physician leadership. Dr. Leenay has nearly 30 years of clinical and operational experience, and previously served as Optum's chief medical officer and senior vice president under various divisions.
